About · The District

Built so you feel like you belong.

The District is a neighborhood club in Chicago where everyday adults come to feel stronger, healthier, and more like themselves again.

We were built for the parents, the nurses, the teachers, the people working long hours — anyone who's been intimidated by big gyms or burned out by extreme programs.

We're a place to show up as you are, get real coaching, and build a healthier life with people who actually root for you.

Meet The Founder

I'm Shaun Hope — strength coach and founder of The District.

Sports and fitness have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. But after high school, injuries, inconsistency, and life started to pull me away from feeling strong and connected to my body.

I originally got into training because I wanted to change my body, build strength, and regain control of my health.

But along the way, fitness became something bigger.

It became my outlet — a way to reset, refocus, reduce stress, and feel like myself again.

That experience is what led me to create The District.

Not just as a gym, but as a supportive space where busy professionals, parents, and everyday people can build confidence, improve their health, and stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed by fitness.

My goal isn't to create perfect athletes.

It's to help people feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and more in control of themselves again.

Because when you feel better physically, it changes how you show up in every part of your life.

The Mission

A community where everyone belongs.

We're not here to build athletes. We're here to help real people feel healthier, more confident, and more like themselves — with a community that has their back.

No ego. No intimidation. No fitness jargon. Just real people, getting a little stronger together — one week at a time.

One Community. Many Goals. A Lifestyle That Lasts.

What we believe.

Community first

Real people, real friendships — the kind that make you actually want to show up.

Simple beats extreme

Habits that fit your life — not ones that take it over.

Coaches who know you

We learn your name, your story, and what's going on in your life.

Strength for real life

Energy for your kids, your work, your weekends. That's the point.
